Today, hysteroscopy is considered the gold standard for evaluating the uterine cavity.

A hysteroscopy is a medical procedure where a lighted tube with a camera on the end is inserted through the vagina and into the uterus to visualize the internal structures and diagnose potential causes of infertility. This procedure can identify problems such as uterine fibroids, polyps, or blockages in the fallopian tubes. It may also be used to retrieve eggs for in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment. Hysteroscopy is typically done with local anesthesia or sedation to minimize discomfort
