Laser Assisted Hatching

Laser-assisted hatching is a scientific IVF method that can open up the embryo’s outer layer or “shell,” also known as the zona pellucida, to make it easier for the embryo to “hatch” or break through and implant in the lining of the uterus.

Laser assisted hatching is an advanced technology to increase the rate of successful implantation of embryo. Sometimes the failure of IVF may be due to the inability of the embryo to implant in the uterus. This may happen when the outer layer of the embryo hardens making it difficult to Hatch and Implant. In laser assisted hatching a small crack is created before inserting the embryo into the uterus.

In this process, Laser shots are used that softens the Zona Pellucida which helps to create opening. The laser will not come in direct contact with the embryo and is performed with utmost precision.
